Motegrity (prucalopride) Indications

Motegrity, generic name prucalopride succinate, is an oral prescription medication used to treat adults with chronic idiopathic constipation. Motegrity is used to relieve the infrequency of bowel movements.

Motegrity is classified as a serotonin-4 receptor agonist, which acts as a gastrointestinal prokinetic agent that stimulates peristalsis in the intestine resulting in an increase in bowel movements.

Make sure to read the medication guide before taking Motegrity. Always take this medication exactly as instructed.

Motegrity is taken by mouth once daily with a glass of water and with or without food. Do not use this medication longer than necessary.

Some of the common side effects of Motegrity are:

• Abdominal pain
• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Headache
• Bloating
• Dizziness
• Vomiting
• Fatigue
• Gas
