What is Diclectin used for?

Diclectin, with the generic name Doxylamine and Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, is an oral prescription medication used to treat nausea and vomiting in pregnancy, also called “morning sickness”. This is classified as an antihistamine and a vitamin B6 derivative.

How does Diclectin work?

This oral tablet is a combination of two active ingredients.

Doxylamine inhibits histaminergic signaling in the medulla of the brain, where the vomiting center is. Pyridoxine, a B-vitamin, is also being supplied in the body as lack of it may also be a factor that also causes nausea and vomiting among pregnant women.
