What is Januvia? 

Januvia, with the generic name sitagliptin, is used to improve glycemic control along with proper diet and regular exercise among people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This medication could prevent nerve problems, blindness, kidney damage, sexual dysfunction, and loss of limbs by controlling blood sugar levels. 

This oral dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor is available in Januvia 100 mg, 50 mg, and 25 mg. It works by increasing and extending the action of incretin hormones. It increases the insulin level in the system and decreases the amount of glucagon through a glucose-dependent manner. 

How to use Januvia
