What is Fem hrt used for?

Fem Hrt, with the generic name norethindrone acetate and Ethinyl estradiol, is an oral medication indicated to treat moderate-severe vasomotor symptoms due to menopause, which includes night sweats, hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and flushes. It is also used to prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis or bone loss.

This is available in Fem hrt 0.5 mg/2.5 mcg tablet forms.

How does Fem Hrt work?

This hormone replacement medication is composed of estrogens and progestins. Estrogens are hugely responsible for the maintenance and development of the female reproductive system and secondary sexual characteristics. Through a negative feedback mechanism, it also modulates the pituitary secretion of luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, and gonadotropins. On the other hand, progestin improves cellular differentiation and can generally oppose the actions of estrogen through different mechanisms.

How to use Fem hrt

To get started, read the Fem Hrt information page that comes with this medicine. Do not start your hormone replacement therapy unless you have fully understood the drug information and precautions that are printed in the guide. If you have inquiries regarding this treatment or need further medical advice, you can ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this tablet orally. This is usually prescribed once daily or as directed by your doctor. The medication can be taken with or without food. If you experience stomach upset, it will be best to take it with food. Swallow the medication while and drink a glass of water right after.

Remember to take this medication on a regular basis and exactly as directed. Make a dosing schedule to achieve the best results and to avoid missing your doses. Do not alter your Femhrt dosage as it is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. Further, when going outside, you should also wear protective clothing and use sunblock cream.

Some conditions may impact how your system will respond to the medication. Moreover, you should discuss all prescription medications, nonprescription medications, herbal products, and supplements you are taking, for they might have drug interactions with this medication.

Always watch out for an allergic reaction while on the course of treatment. Do not take this oral medication if you have a known allergy to norethindrone acetate, Ethinylestradiol, or any inactive ingredients it may contain. Call for a medical emergency once you notice signs of severe hypersensitivities, such as breathing difficulty, severe dizziness, rashes, itchiness, and swelling of the face and neck.
