Zyvox (linezolid) is a medication used to treat different types of bacterial infections including skin infections, pneumonia and infections that are resistant to other antibiotics. This medication does not treat viral infections including common cold or flu.

Store at room temperature. Do not freeze the liquid form of Zyvox (linezolid). Dispose the liquid form of Zyvox (linezolid) if it is unused for more than 21 days. Keep away from heat, moisture, light, children and pets.

Before taking Zyvox (linezolid), inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or breastfeeding; if you are taking prescription or over the counter medication, herbal preparation, or dietary supplements; if you have any allergies to drugs; if you have high blood pressure, a seizure disorder, kidney or liver disease, bone marrow suppression, or a weak immune system.

Also, do not use Zyvox (linezolid) if you are currently taking meperidine (Demerol), buspirone (BuSpar), pseudoephedrine (a decongestant), a diet pill or other stimulant, ADHD medications (Adderall or Dexedrine), migraine or cluster headache medications (triptans) including Imitrex or Zomig and others, medication treating Parkinson’s disease or restless leg syndrome, or an antidepressant such as Celexa, Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, and others. If you have untreated or uncontrolled high blood pressure, a carcinoid tumor, adrenal gland tumor, or a severely overactive thyroid, do not use Zyvox (linezolid).

Sever Side Effects : Severe: Diarrhea that is watery or bloody; pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness; numbness, burning, pain, or tingly feeling in your hands or feet; fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms; blurred vision, trouble seeing colors; or seizure (convulsions).

Common: Mild rash or itching; nausea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain or upset; vaginal itching or discharge; headache, dizziness; sleep problems (insomnia); discolored tongue, unusual or unpleasant taste in the mouth; or yeast infection in the mouth.
