Garamycin is an antibiotic used to treat eye infections, such as conjunctivitis.

Keep at room temperature and protect from heat and light.

Keep using Garamycin for the full length of the treatment even if your symptoms have disappeared. Do not let anyone else use your eye drops, and do not save any remaining medication for a future infection. If you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breast-feeding, ask your doctor what is best for you health and your child’s health.

Continued or prolonged use of Garamycin may result in a growth of bacteria or fungi that do not respond to Garamycin and may cause a second infection.

Patient Family Information  : Always follow your doctor’s directions when taking Garamycin. Wash your hands thoroughly before starting. Pull your lower eyelid down to form a pouch between your eyelid and your eye. Make sure the applicator tip does not touch anything. Squeeze a drop of the medication into the pouch and close you eyelid. Keep the eyelid closed for a minute or two. If you are required to take a second type of eye drop, wait at least 5-10 minutes before applying.

Avoid the use of Garamycin if you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to Garamycin or other antibiotics.
